Southern Tier Blackwater Imperial Stout

Yippee, There are 3 places in town that has the limited edition Imperial Stout from Suthern Tier. Who wants to go to the Rivertowne Inn tonight? It's selling fast. I don’t want to call it a dive bar because that sounds negative so I’ll describe it’s atmosphere as a neighborhood bar. It doesn’t look like a place where you are going to find anything more exotic than Yuengling, but that certainly is not the case. The atmosphere of the bar was relaxing, it was the after work crowd relaxing and having a beer. It was Mexican special night and everyone was drinking the specials or domestics. If their sales are always almost exclusively macro beer then I fear that the great selection will remain. It was also a little too smoky for my tastes but it wasn’t horrible. They had 16 taps with over half serving imported or craft beer, Victory, Brooklyn, Southern Tier, Lancaster, Belhaven, Youngs, Franziskaner, Hoegaarden, to give you an idea. Their coolers were fully stocked with micros and imports as well. Lots of Dogfish Head, Victory, Great Lakes, Bells, Unibroue, Stoudts, Rogue, Stone. They had a big selection of large bottles and some hard to find beers. Just be careful that you aren’t being served in frozen glassware, I wasn’t paying attention and well my Imperial Stout came in an ice cold mug. I toughed it out and spent almost a half an hour warming it with my hands.
